Elaion was started by Nathan Kwan and Christos Politis, two students at the University of Southern California, to make the hand wipe part of the occasion instead of an afterthought.
People remember the small details of a good meal or a good party: a warm welcome, the music, a thank-you on the way out. A hand wipe is one of the last things a guest touches, and it’s usually a plain packet that says nothing about where they are.
We wanted it to carry the restaurant’s name, the couple’s names or the event’s colours, and to be so easy to order that nobody has to think about it again.

Our name comes from ἔλαιον, Ancient Greek for olive oil, which athletes used to clean their skin.
